So after going through my closet and pairing down clothes that didn’t fit or were too well worn, I realized there were clothes that I could get more use out of if they were in a different form. Like from a dress I get very little use out of into a skirt which I can get much more use out of. See below.

My first gathered Item! I made this off of a tutorial from the blog Noodlehead.

Happy Friday Everybody!
I inherited a dress from my sister but being far less endowed on top than she (As my Asian dry cleaning lady said to me, “You have no boobs, why by strapless!” Gotta love her blunt honesty… she somehow reminds me of my grandma, anyway…), it did not fit so well. So this past weekend it reincarnated into a skirt! Check out the before and after pictures!

On the back I made a small button closure to cover the zipper.

Hope you guys like it as much as I do!
Oh and P.S. It was a bridesmaid strapless dress that needed altering (To which she replied “OK, But I no miracle worker!”, not a dress I had picked out on my own.
P.P.S. She was a miracle worker. The dress stayed up the entire night!

Swapping out sewing material at my sister’s I couldn’t resist but to bring this home, even though I had no use for it then. Then it came to me… it reminded me of an Anthropology skirt, so I decided to try and make it one. I didn’t have a pattern so I just kind of went with it. The hardest part was trying to get a photo. After having my camera for 8 years, I realized I’ve never actually used the timer… ever. So I did sprints back and forth trying to make it before the timer went off and this was the first image that wasn’t blurry. I took it and ran, or should I say posted.
